02.0 / WHAT WE DO

What we do

We digitize methodologies, meter the field and publish the proof, so a carbon credit’s story can be checked by anyone, from the device that made it to the registry that retired it.

ONE RECORD, END TO END
03.0 / THE JOURNEY OF A CREDIT

From methodology PDF to retired credit.

Paper cannot be checked at the speed the climate needs. A methodology enters this pipeline as a document and comes out as a living system. What follows is one real tonne making that trip.

  1. GATE 01

    DIGITIZE

    The rulebook becomes running code.

A methodology of a hundred pages and more compiles into executable code, with every parameter, equation and evidence requirement enforced by the engine that runs it. The compiled methodology is the artefact, so it travels to whichever stack a standard has chosen.

  2. GATE 02

    AUTHOR

The paperwork compiles out of the record.

A digitized methodology sets exactly what a project has to prove. Authoring agents draft the project design document, the monitoring report and the verifier pack against that specification, with every claim carrying the source file it came from.

  3. GATE 03

    MEASURE

    Evidence arrives from the field.

Device telemetry from metered stoves, per-batch production records from biochar sites, and satellite models calibrated against permanent ground plots. Measurement starts at the source and streams in daily.

  4. GATE 04

    CERTIFY

Verification keeps pace with the data.

Quantification and policy execution run continuously, and the evidence pack an accredited auditor asks for assembles itself. Earthood checked this one. Gold Standard issued against that opinion, on an interim track that pays a project in months.

  5. GATE 05

    RECORD

    Every credit stays publicly auditable.

The credits land on a public ledger and Atlas publishes each one’s journey, from the device data that earned it through to the account that retires it. Anyone can follow a single tonne the whole way back.

On 25 Mar 2026, Gold Standard issued its first fully digital clean cooking carbon credits.

GS3838, the eCook programme in Bangladesh. Gold Standard set the rules and issued, ATEC ran the programme, Earthood audited and Hedera anchored the record. CarbonMarketsHQ led the methodology digitisation behind the issuance and built the public Atlas dashboard.

Certification is becoming software. We run it across three pathways.

Clean cooking, restoration and biochar differ completely in how the physical thing gets measured. Each one has a project already on the ground, and each one runs on the same documentation layer underneath.

Clean cooking dMRV

Every stove reports its own use, every day.

DEVICE TELEMETRY90-DAY CYCLE

Over a billion people still cook on smoky, polluting fires. Clean-cooking projects change that, and metering makes the impact bankable. Data moves from the stove to verification on its own.

  • MECD v1.2 and v2.0 digitized, audited and proven with a real issuance. We are actively onboarding metered energy cooking projects
  • Any PDD, whether a finished PDF or a folder of raw project documents, onboarded to a registry-ready monitoring pipeline

Nature-based dMRV

SATELLITE + GROUND PLOTSCALIBRATED

Soil, species and survival sit below what imagery can resolve, so we pair satellite models with permanent field plots and community monitors. What we report tracks what is actually growing.

  • Satellite and LiDAR biomass monitoring, built for the dynamic baselines newer ARR and REDD methodologies require
  • Deforestation-risk maps for the Indo-Burmese hotspot and Southeast Asia, built to registry specification
  • Built on digital VM0033, VM0047 and VM0048, so a project onboards onto executable methodology

Biochar & bio-oil dMRV

One batch, one record.

PYROLYSIS BATCHCHAIN OF CUSTODY

Turning contracts into verified tonnes across thousands of small sites is the bottleneck. We have built the chain from feedstock to registry issuance, and it is piloting with early partners today.

  • Batch-level pyrolysis telemetry and chain-of-custody capture
  • Registry-agnostic, verifier-ready evidence packs
  • Early partner pilots are underway, and access opens in waves

Canon, the project documentation suite

One knowledge base an agent keeps current, every claim citing its source file, every change logged. Project design documents, monitoring reports and RFP responses compile out of it in minutes.

HOW IT WORKS
SOURCES IN, DOCUMENTS OUTEVERY CLAIM CITED
05.0 / CANON
THE PROJECT DOCUMENTATION SUITELIVE

One brain for a decade of paperwork.

Get months of documentation work done in minutes.

Every claim knows where it came from.

Certification runs on paperwork. A project description can run past 160 pages and its validation report past 190, a monitoring report comes back every year, and a single validation can close with more than thirty corrective action requests. The project outlives the people who wrote it, and the methodology changes underneath.

A carbon project is a graph pretending to be a document. The additionality argument is in a research PDF, the credit total is in a spreadsheet formula, the consent record is a photograph of an attendance register. Then one number is corrected and every document that quoted it is wrong by the afternoon.

Canon holds the whole project, from the methodology version in force to the answer given to a verifier eighteen months ago, and writes the official documents out of that record in the registry's own template. It is methodology-agnostic by design: the rules of a standard load as schemas, so a Gold Standard clean cooking programme, a Verra restoration project and a biochar pathway run side by side. Markdown and git underneath, readable by a person the day the software goes away.

An agent keeps the record current, and every decision stays with a person.

Planting schedule

Planting runs in two windows each year, set against the monsoon onset, with the nursery schedule working back from the second window.

The end date of the second window is recorded differently in two sources. Both are kept.

THE LIVING KNOWLEDGE BASE

Drop in a PDF, a spreadsheet or a photograph of an attendance register. The agent parses it and updates every page it touches.

EVERY CHANGE LOGGED

When a source file changes, the pages built on it flag stale, and the log records what changed and what it broke.

DOCUMENTS THAT COMPILE

Registry documents compile into the official template, and every remaining gap is flagged for a person to fill.

AN AUDIT TRAIL BY DEFAULT

Every figure resolves back to the file, page and date it came from, so a verifier gets an answer in one click.

THE PROJECT’S MEMORY

A deviation agreed in year three reappears in every report that follows it, with the reasoning still attached.

ANY PATHWAY, ANY METHODOLOGY

Clean cooking, nature-based and biochar work across Gold Standard, Verra and the CDM, on rules that load as schemas.

FLAGSHIP · FOREST & BIODIVERSITY RESTORATION · NAGALAND

10,000 hectares of the Indo‑Burmese biodiversity hotspot, coming back.

Nagaland is losing forest cover faster than any other Indian state. Forest Futures brings 10,000 hectares of it back with 16 native species, on land the village councils own and govern, within reach of 200K+ people. We are co-proponent and technology partner, carrying the project alongside the communities who hold the land. It is our own project, and it runs our own nature-based dMRV stack, with 30 permanent plots where the satellite models meet a measuring tape.

09.0 / BUILT IN THE OPEN

A tonne is a promise about a future nobody has seen yet.

Somebody outside the room has to be able to check it.

So we are writing the checking down, in the open, with the bodies that hold the rules.

Carbon markets run on trust, and trust needs methods people can read and numbers people can check. The methodologies we digitize are published as open reference implementations, and we write up the craft as we learn it.

10.0 / THE INVITATION

Bring a methodology, a project, or a workflow that keeps breaking.

We get teams to certification-ready documents and working dMRV integrations, for any methodology and any standard, in voluntary and compliance markets alike. If you are digitising a methodology, scoping a monitoring plan, or trying to make a document survive an audit, bring the record and we will read it with you.
